
Sam Cassell, DPT
Sam moved to the Redding area with his wife in 2020 from Atlanta, GA. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Berry College in Rome, GA, then went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Georgia State University. He brings over ten years’ experience in both a supervisory role and outpatient orthopedics. Sam welcomes the opportunity to serve the surrounding community as Lead Physical Therapist of both Mountain View Physical Therapy and Corning Physical Therapy. In his free time, Sam and his wife, Crystal, enjoy the outdoors and traveling.

Jeff Howell, MPT, ATC
Jeff grew up in Corning and enjoyed playing any and every sport possible during his youth. He graduated from Corning High School and went on to Butte College and Chico State University. After graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Jeff and his wife April moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he completed graduate school at Wichita State University.
After graduating from PT school in 1995, Jeff, along with his wife, moved back to Corning to become a partner in the Physical Therapy & Wellness Center. In 2007, Jeff and April purchased the business and were happy to be business owners in the community for 17 years. In 2024, they sold the business to Western Physical Therapy where Jeff happily works today as a PT.
During his 28 years as a Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer, Jeff has enjoyed working with injured Corning High School athletes during their rehabilitation process. He has been a fixture on the Cardinal sidelines on Friday nights for his entire career.
Jeff specializes in manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and mobilization techniques to help his patients recover from their injuries. In his free time he enjoys running, hiking, biking, spending time with his three children and wife, relaxing in his mountain cabin, and following his youngest son’s sporting events.

Claudia, PT Tech
Claudia is originally from Guadalajara, Mexico before she moved to Corning twenty years ago. Her prior experiences include working as a personal assistant and as a teacher’s aide at Corning Adult School, helping students with their assignments. Claudia also worked as a caregiver, gaining experience in physical therapy and post-op recovery. In 2020, she completed her Associate’s of Science in Business Administration at Butte College. Claudia enjoys working at Corning Physical Therapy & Wellness Center because she can be part of a friendly clinic that helps patients reach their physical goals with compassion and sympathy. She loves living close to nature and enjoys being outdoors with her dog. Her passions include health, fitness, and dancing.

Carlos, PT Tech
Carlos is from C-Town – that’s Chico! He loves working as a tech in the clinic and especially working with the athletes. He has studied Exercise Physiology at Chico State University. Carlos’ professional goal after graduating is to pursue a degree as a Physical Therapist. He would like to bridge the gap for those who struggle with language barriers as well as those with physical adaptations. His all-time favorite pastime is taking sick hikes. Carlos also enjoys jiu jitsu and spending time with the ones he loves.
